Friend, Lysdexicuss, requested another round of Howie Post stories after my last outing. I'm only to happy to oblige. These two stories come from Hot Stuff, The Little Devil No. 57, December 1963.
Since I'm on a Harvey Comics kick, let's ride the wave with some Warren Kremer next time out!
Great post of Post's work. Looking forward to some Kremer next. Thanks, Mykal!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have enough Post ever, that's for sure. The same happens with Kremer. Keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeleteloved the killer "phoneygraph"!
ReplyDeleteBring it on!!! Harvey Comics are some of my fondest early influences. By bringing the cream of the crop to light you do us all an honor, Mykal!
ReplyDeleteGood stuff, totally using this as reference material!
ReplyDeleteDamiano: Great! You probably already have done so, but check out the other Post posts by clicking the label below.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to do a relief map of the Enchanted Forest...if just to map out their surronding neighbors! Automaland isnot on any auto clob trip-ticks.
ReplyDeleteI love that story - It's like a terminator movie done for kids. I love it when the TV gets a spanking.
ReplyDeleteThat Female Ogre in story #2 reminds me of my Ex-Girlriend & her ability to throw multiple objects @ once !
ReplyDeleteLysdexicuss: What a formidable asset to have!
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! I have overlooked the first comments by Anonymous, Gabe, Prof., and Jeff's first comment! Gentlemen, forgive me! Thanks for commenting!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHoward Post was the all-timed Harvey Comics' most cartoony cartoonist.
ReplyDeleteIt makes one year ago that this genius left us.
Rodineiselveira: Agreed. Howie Post forever!
ReplyDeleteMykal,
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that, between 1968 and 1982, Howard Post produced a well-succeded comic strip which was carried on the newspapers from the whole world via United Media (United Feature Syndicate): "Dropouts".
rodineisilveira: I certainly won't forget. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteI'm probbly way too late but thanks for posting this. As usual, I wasn't a heavy reader of Harvey Comics as achild. It wasn't until I was older That I discovered the magic of Kremer, Colon, Post, etc.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's never too late.
Thanks for keeping the magic alive, Mykal.
Oscar: It's never too late to enjoy Howie Post! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI actually owned this Hot Stuff comic as a kid.
ReplyDeleteMan, this brings back the 'good old days'.
Thanks for the post.
Xyberbat: Glad I could bring back good memories. thanks for the comment!
