Today let's enjoy the crystal-clear draftsmanship and brushwork of Al Hubbard, displayed in these two stories from Scamp No. 6, June-August 1958. There is an elegance to Hubbard's work that is always lovely to look at.
Again . . . elegance! Hubbard's refined skills shine from this inside front cover.

I remember the artwork in that Scamp comic looking really good. It would come in those 3 pack bagged comics at the grocery.
ReplyDeleteHey, KW! Scamp was very cool.
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm just wondering if you'd like to see some comics drawn by me. I'm a kid. I post them on my website at http://comicsbyme.weebly.com
ReplyDeleteFeel free to read them and give me feedback on the blog.
Thank you very much!
Anonymous: I'm loving Sizeman! I'll put your site in my comics links ASAP. Thanks for sharing - I really like your stuff and keep it up!
ReplyDeleteOh man, Mykal, I LOVE this guy's stuff! As a wee one, I remember poring over his "Mary Jane & Sniffles" pages and trying to duplicate his ink lines with my Flair pens (Note: It can't be done).
ReplyDeleteAnother fantastic, prolific artist that needs some recognition at comic con memorials!
Thanks for posting this Mykal!
Thanks, Bill. I love his Sniffles stuff, too.
