Once a year, Harvey would devot a section of a comic to a "Special Xmas Toy Section," featuring pages of great toys for kids to look through. Let's have a look during this Christmas season of 2011 what children wanted from Santa over fifty years ago. This comes from Spooky, No. 28, 1959. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and love to everyone!

Wow, Thanks for posting these pages. These were always a big thrill for me as a kid. I've never seen this one.

ReplyDeleteI got my eye~ after nearly a full tray of cookies~ on that Joe Palooka Home Gym ! And would love to try Table Badminton while I'm at it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so thrilled you guys liked this post! I loved the Harvey comics Xmas toy sections as a kid, and glad I'm not alone. Merry Christmas, gentlemen three (three wise Big Blog readers!)
ReplyDeleteWere my Flux Capacitor working, I would go back and get a "Wells Fargo Slammer" or a "Muttsy".
ReplyDeleteFantastic stuff Mykal. A Merriest of Christmases to you and all your readers!
Bill: I think I'd go for the "Table Badminton" game myself. I know! Isn't this stuff cool?
ReplyDeleteand a Merry Christmas to you and PW, my friend!
These toys are amazing. One time I ordered something from a comic book, it was these headphones which would let you hear things from far away, but it didn't work. Are some of the toys in here scams?
ReplyDeleteMy website's been back up comicsbyme.weebly.com
Merry Christmas!
Hussein: Scams? In a Harvey comic endorsed by Casper? Absolutely never!!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
I've seen Muttsy for sale at the antique mall a couple times... I never realized it was the same mutt from Sad Sack until this post! That Lassie Rider though is the most hilarious thing ever.
ReplyDeleteAnd Casper looks great with a beard, I think!
I'd buy the Flexy Racer.
ReplyDeleteHow come you took my website off your comic blogs list?
Karswell: There is something vaguely . . . unsettling about that squat, bulbous Lassie Rider.
ReplyDeleteHussein: The link was gone for awhile. Now that it works, you are back on my bloglist.
